Each year from August to October, the grounds of Mount Hope Estate are transformed into 35-acres of mirth and merriment amidst jousting knights and royal delights. Our neighbors at the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire invite members of Zenkaikon 2015 to join them for their 35th season, and have given us 2 pairs of tickets to give away!
The Philadelphia Asian American Film Festival has partnered with the Philadelphia Museum of Art, to host a free screening of the Studio Ghibli film From Up on Poppy Hill, to coincide with the museum's current special exhibit "Ink and Gold: Art of the Kano." The screening will take place on Sunday, March 22nd at 1pm.
Zenkaikon has chosen to support the Lymphoma Research Foundation as our 2015 charity, in memory of longtime convention guest and friend C.J Henderson, who passed away from lymphoma in July of 2014. The Lymphoma Research Foundation (LRF) is the nation’s largest non-profit organization devoted to funding innovative research and serving the lymphoma community through a comprehensive series of education programs, outreach initiatives and patient services. To date, LRF has awarded more than $56 million in lymphoma-specific research.

We are happy to welcome Kuniko Kanawa to Zenkaikon 2015! Kanawa-san is a certified kimono consultant of the All Japan Kimono Consultant Association, a classically trained Edo Tsumami Kanzashi artisan, and founder of the Washington D.C. Kimono Club. Kanawa-san will be bringing her Kanzashi workshops to Zenkaikon 2015!
